Steven Lewis a composer, technologist, computer programmer, percussionist, and digital multimedia artist using Artificial Intelligence and computer vision technologies to design, build, and perform with new screen-based interfaces for musical expression. He is active as a collaborator with other musicians interested in augmenting their own performance practices with emergent technologies

Steven earned a PhD in Integrated Composition, Improvisation, and Technology from the University of California Irvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts, a Master of Music in Music Technology from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education,
and Human Development, a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of South Florida’s School of Music. Steven was an Instructor of Music Technology in the Atlantic Music Festival’s Future Music Lab at Colby College and held the position of Show Audio Engineer at Meow Wolf Inc., an immersive art
and media company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

His creative work and research have been presented at national and international conferences, including the New York City Electro-Acoustic Music Festival (NYCEMF), The International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), The Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), the International Conference on Timbre, the Berklee AI Music Summit, and GameSoundCon. He is an active member of The Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in
the United States and The International Computer Music Association.
